Una proclamación
Durante 28 años, el Muro de Berlín
dividió a familias, amigos y comunidades, haciendo que los alemanes oprimidos
que vivían en el lado oriental no buscaran la libertad que merecían en
Occidente. Este Día Mundial de la Libertad, 28 años después de la caída del
Muro de Berlín, celebramos el día 9 de noviembre de 1989, cuando la gente de
Alemania Oriental y Occidental derribó el Muro de Berlín y la libertad triunfó
sobre el comunismo. Alabamos la valentía de todas las personas que insisten en
un futuro mejor para ellos, sus familias y su país, mientras reflexionamos
sobre el estado de la libertad en nuestro mundo de hoy y los que han hecho el
último sacrificio para defenderla.
La caída del Muro de Berlín estimuló la
reunificación de Alemania y la difusión de los valores democráticos en Europa
central y oriental. Mediante elecciones democráticas y un fuerte compromiso con
los derechos humanos, estos hombres y mujeres decididos se aseguraron de que
sus conciudadanos y futuros ciudadanos pudieran vivir sus vidas en libertad.
Hoy, se nos recuerda que la función primaria del gobierno es precisamente esto,
asegurar preciosas libertades individuales.
Si bien vivimos en un tiempo de libertad
sin precedentes, el terrorismo y el extremismo en todo el mundo continúan
amenazándonos. El triunfo final de la libertad, la paz y la seguridad sobre el
totalitarismo represivo depende de nuestra capacidad para trabajar codo con codo
con nuestros amigos y aliados. Cuando las naciones trabajan juntas, tenemos y
aseguraremos y promoveremos la libertad y la estabilidad en todo nuestro mundo.
En el Día Mundial de la Libertad, nos
volvemos a comprometer con el avance de la libertad sobre las fuerzas de la
represión y el radicalismo. Continuamos dejando en claro que los regímenes
opresivos deben confiar en su gente y otorgar a sus ciudadanos la libertad que
merecen. El mundo será mejor para eso.
AHORA, POR LO TANTO, YO, DONALD J.
TRUMP, Presidente de los Estados Unidos de América, en virtud de la autoridad
que me otorgan la Constitución y las leyes de los Estados Unidos, proclamo el 9
de noviembre de 2017 como el Día Mundial de la Libertad . Hago un llamado al
pueblo de los Estados Unidos para observar este día con ceremonias y
actividades apropiadas, reafirmando nuestra dedicación a la libertad y la
democracia.
EN TESTIMONIO DE LO CUAL, suscribo la
presente este octavo día de noviembre, en el año de Nuestro Señor, dos mil
diecisiete, y de la Independencia de los Estados Unidos de América, el

For
28 years, the Berlin Wall divided families, friends, and communities,
barricading oppressed Germans living on the Eastern side from seeking the
freedom they deserved in the West. This World Freedom Day, 28 years after the
fall of the Berlin Wall, we celebrate the day on November 9, 1989, when people
of East and West Germany tore down the Berlin Wall and freedom triumphed over
Communism. We laud the courage of all people who insist on a better future for
themselves, their families, and their country, as we reflect on the state of
freedom in our world today and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice
defending it.
The
fall of the Berlin Wall spurred the reunification of Germany and the spread of
democratic values across Central and Eastern Europe. Through democratic
elections, and a strong commitment to human rights, these determined men and
women ensured that their fellow and future citizens could live their lives in
freedom. Today, we are reminded that the primary function of government is
precisely this, to secure precious individual liberties.
While
we live in a time of unprecedented freedom, terrorism and extremism around the
world continue to threaten us. The ultimate triumph of freedom, peace, and
security over repressive totalitarianism depends on our ability to work
side-by-side with our friends and allies. When nations work together, we have
and we will secure and advance freedom and stability throughout our world.
On
World Freedom Day, we recommit to the advancement of freedom over the forces of
repression and radicalism. We continue to make clear that oppressive regimes
should trust their people and grant their citizens the liberty they deserve.
The world will be better for it.
NOW,
THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by
virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the
United States, do hereby proclaim November 9, 2017, as World Freedom Day. I
call upon the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate
ceremonies and activities, reaffirming our dedication to freedom and democracy.
IN
WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighth day of November, in
the year of our Lord two thousand seventeen, and of the Independence of the
United States of America the two hundred and forty-second.

Que gran ironía mis hermanos, jactandose de libertad y democracia alguien que proclama la construcción de un muro para separar a los mexicanos de su nacion terrorista asesinos y extremistas. Su demagogia no tiene límites. Bendiciones
